Dead Man’s Hollow

Two new trails have been introduced to Dead Man’s Hollow, a 450-acre parcel of land with 6-miles of winding trails and winner of the the 2016 Urban Land Institute Placemaking award for “Healthy Place.” Reporters speak with representatives of Allegheny Land Trust and Landforce volunteers, the people responsible for creating and maintaining trails for public use.

Created by Point Park University student Ashley Murray and National Geographic “Your Shot” editor Matt Adams.

Murray and Adams participated in the 2016 Multimedia Workshop, hosted by the Point Park University Environmental Journalism Program . During the two-day workshop, students and mentors were paired up and sent out to report on an assigned story topic, with the deadline set to 5:00 the next day.

A big thank you to our mentor, Matt Adams and to Allegheny Land Trust for participating!
