Friends of the Riverfront: Pittsburgh Redbud Project

The Pittsburgh Red Bud project is bringing more vibrant color to the city, looking forward to April and May. On October 22nd, 120 students volunteered and successfully planted 82 redbud trees at Point State Park in Downtown Pittsburgh.

Created by Point Park University Student Trevor Kirby and Visual Producer at The Incline Jasmine Goldband.

Kirby and Jasmine participated in the 2016 Multimedia Workshop, hosted by Point Park University’s Environmental Journalism Program. During the two-day workshop, students and mentors were paired up and sent out to report on an assigned story topic, with the deadline set to 5:00 the next day.

A big thank you to our mentor, Jasmine Goldband and to Friends of the Riverfront and the Western Pennsylvania Conservancy for participating!
